Serpentinata Benjamin Pen

Serpentinata Benjamin

Serpentinata Benjamin is a ballpoint pen produced with 3D printing. All parts except the refill are 3D printed. The pen is transparent when new and gradually turns yellow with use, especially when exposed to sunlight. Yellowing of plastic under ultraviolet light is usually seen as a defect in industrial products, and Serpentinata Benjamin treats the change as a positive quality. Each pen develops its own color over time, in the way that musical instruments, leather goods and wooden furniture age with their owners. The pen measures 9.5 by 9.5 by 105 millimeters including the cap.

Eternity Pen

Eternity

Eternity is a metal pen designed for everyday writing. The body is made of aluminum and is shaped by high-precision CNC turning of an aluminum tube. The surface is frosted by sandblasting and polishing, then treated with anodic oxidation to make the texture smooth and glossy. The frosted finish softens the reflection of the metal and gives a delicate touch. The random texture refers to the circle as a symbol of time. The clip is cast in zinc alloy and hand ground, and a built-in spring structure holds the pen in books and pockets.

Serpentinata Pen

Serpentinata

Serpentinata is a writing pen made by 3D printing. The design responds to the waste created by mass production, where more goods are made than are needed. Digital fabrication allows each pen to be produced only when it is required, so surplus stock is avoided. The twisting form recalls figura serpentinata, a Renaissance technique that adds a spiral movement to the human figure to create a graceful and dynamic effect. The shape is intended to give visible form to intelligence and to ideas born from inspiration.
