The Art of Community Public Space

The Art of Community

The Art of Community is a public space design within a residential development in Taichung City, Taiwan. The shared areas include a six-meter-high lobby that opens to a planted courtyard, an art corridor and a living kitchen. Glazing of 3.3 meters brings natural light and airflow into the interior. Minimalist concrete is combined with warm wood, while soft organic curves replace hard angles, most visibly in the curved wooden architecture of the library. The formal lobby counter was removed to create a seamless flow to the courtyard and to encourage interaction among residents.

Silk Rhyme

Silk Rhyme is a public space in a residential building, with an area of 528 square meters. The long interior is divided into three zones. One side forms an active area with a gym, a yoga and meditation room, bathing facilities and an outdoor swimming pool. Starry Town Public Space

Starry Town

Starry Town of Fuxian Lake is a visitor center and public space built on the bank of Fuxian Lake. The building is shaped like a white leaf resting quietly beside the water. Each leaf roof covers about 1200 square meters and provides the shading required by the local climate. Two flowing white walls of aluminum plates connect the spaces, together with a curved ribbon bridge that extends 145 meters. The canopy over the entrance is formed from triangular mirror-finished stainless steel panels. Wide glazing on the ground floor keeps the lake visible from the site.

The Flow Public Space

The Flow

The Flow is a public space interior design for the shared areas of a residential building in Taipei City, Taiwan. The design theme is water, used as a metaphor for time and movement. A wood grill ceiling with curved wavy forms runs from the main entrance to the reception desk and continues through the lounge, the mailroom and the underground parking area. Corrugated stainless steel panels on the elevator hall walls suggest ripples. Reflective walls and white marble effect ceramic tiles widen the space visually. Wood and stainless steel were selected because both materials are recyclable.

Symphonic Movement

Undulating Symphonic Movement is a residential lobby interior in Taipei, Taiwan, covering 82.5 square meters. The design is inspired by music.
