The new LAXART logo celebrates the life found beating throughout the city through its multiple colors and layers of X-shaped lines. The colors and X's build on each other to represent the diversity found in Los Angeles. The logo can also adapt to a variety of surfaces and mediums, subtly shifting from print, to web, and other interactive environments to accommodate to a continually shifting city.

It tells the true story of the journey Daniel Kutcher made through Australia, Asia, Canada and Scandinavia in the fall of 2009 when he was 24. Integrated within the main body of text that tells the story of what he lived through and learnt during the trip, photos, maps, expressive text and video help immerse the reader in the adventure and give a better sense of the author's own personal experience.

Continue readingOpx2 is an optic installation that explores a symbiotic relationship between nature and technology. A relationship where patterns, repetition, and rhythm describe both natural formations and operations of computing processes. The installations reclusive geometry, momentary opacity and/or density are similar to the phenomenon of driving by a cornfield or explained in technology while looking at binary code. Opx2 builds complex geometry and challenges ones perception of volume and space.
Continue readingWhen Gamsei opened in 2013, hyper-localism was introduced to a field of practice which had till then been mainly confined to the food scene. At Gamsei, ingredients for cocktails are either wildly foraged or grown by local artesian farmers. The bar interior, is a clear continuation of this philosophy. Just like the cocktails, Buero Wagner procured all materials locally, and worked in close collaboration with local manufacturers to produce custom-made solutions. Gamsei is a wholly integrated concept that turns the event of drinking a cocktail into a novel experience.
