The Metamorphosis

The Metamorphosis is a handcrafted garment inspired by the ideas of mutation and evolution. The design is based on exaggerated animal skeletons shaped to fit the human body. The resulting forms suggest a cross image of human and animal. The garment is made of biodegradable plastic, leather and hair. The plastic is scrap material that is hot pressed with hair to form a fabric. The leather and hair are recycled from studio leftovers and barbershop waste. Arm, hand, front, back and foot parts can be removed and reassembled for easy wear and later replacement.

Alternative

Alternative is a genderless fashion collection of fourteen items, including tops, bottoms and outerwear. The collection is inspired by ancient unisex garments from Western and Eastern cultures, such as the Greek chiton, the Roman tunic, the Chinese shenyi and the Thai jongkraben. Each item uses flexible connections, materials and folding, so the fit can be adjusted to different bodies. The garments are presented on male and female bodies. The intent is not to hide the body but to blur fixed dress boundaries and support self-identity.

Hopes and Beliefs

Hopes and Beliefs is a suit designed for daily work and for evening occasions. The set includes a Victorian-inspired puff-sleeve jacket, a belt-on peplum, jodhpur-style pants in two lengths and a Peter Pan collared dickey. The peplum can be attached over the jacket to change the appearance of the outfit. Magnetic closures on the pants and on the outer wrist of the sleeve adjust the garment and add a color accent. Fabrics made for industrial use are treated with special finishing steps to make them suitable for fashion. The suit is made in a limited series in Italian sizes 36 to 42.

Happiness Is

Happiness Is is a women's suit that combines pleated trousers with a matching shirt. The trousers carry many pleats on each leg, and the pleats form large pockets and give the garment a distinct structure. The shirt is cut to leave part of the shoulder open. The suit is made of natural cotton with custom finishes. The gray tone keeps the outfit simple and easy to combine with other pieces. The suit is offered in one size, suitable for small and medium figures. The design was developed in Bucharest between April and June 2018.

During the structure of the dress the most challenging experience was to maintain the order of the elaboration.

Lacquer

Lacquer is a handcrafted phone case made with the traditional lacquer art of Vietnam. The decorated surface is built on a metal base and covered with many layers of resin. Natural materials such as eggshells, minerals, gold and silver are placed between the layers. The work is done by hand over fourteen days in a moisture controlled environment. Artisans then grind and polish the surface until the hidden drawings and colors appear. A protective coating shields the lacquer from sunlight and water. Each case is sized to fit a specific phone model.
