Xuelian Liangdian

Beijing XLLD Creative Park is a lighting design for the public spaces of a renovated building in Beijing, China. The building was formerly a textile shopping mall, and the renovation created offices, small retail units, a theater, roof gardens and exhibition areas. The lighting creates the feeling of an office lounge with cultural events rather than a common office. Narrow beam 4000K LED wall washers light the white facade, while warm white LED lights mark the bronze curtain wall above the main entrance. Hidden 3000K LED strips guide the audience to the seating area of the theater.

Fine Interlock

Due to technical and machine limitations, the shape of traditional wooden tenons can’t change too much. By combining soft tenon steps with CNC processing methods, the impression of the conventional tenon joint is subverted, and tenon craft has more possibilities in shape and application, genuinely making it come alive. Inspired by experimental modeling, the shape of the dovetail joint and the twisting effect of the work are similar to the helical structure of DNA and thus tried to develop in this direction.

Luxblade

Luxblade is a smart lamp designed for home use. The main light unit, called the blade, is a cylindrical lamp without a traditional screw mechanism, holding control chips, a battery and LED panels. The blade is detachable and can be carried by hand, so light becomes a tangible object. Floor and desktop versions each offer three light sources: main lights, foundation domes and light rings. Touchpads on the blade adjust light direction with circular motions and brightness with vertical swipes. A magnetic base recharges the blade.

RTG40 Flood Lamp

RTG40 Flood Lamp is an architectural lighting fixture made for the illumination of ancient buildings. The lamp measures 4 by 4 by 5.8 centimetres and weighs 0.2 kilograms, so the fixture can be concealed on tiles, cornices, beams and columns. The body is made of aviation aluminium alloy, and a special surface finish helps the lamp blend with the building during the day. An IP67 rating provides protection against water. Several brackets allow hidden installation in restricted positions. Soft and precise light avoids the discomfort caused by very bright lighting.

The Sixth Sence

The Sixth Sence is a floor lamp designed for simple tactile control. The base has a cross shape, so the lamp can be placed close to a desk or between pieces of furniture. The switches are set above the shades, within arm's reach of a seated person. One or both shades can be turned on without looking at the lamp. Metal, frosted glass and LED boards are used, so no light bulb needs to be replaced. The finish is matte black with a textured surface that is pleasant to touch. The lamp is collapsible to protect it in transport and reduce packaging.

A digital control system adjusts the light colour of all lamps through a Bluetooth connection.
